This collaboration between Swiss composer Antoine Chessex, French electronic wizard Jérôme Noetinger and iconic UK experimental group Apartment House presents two pieces of dense electro-acoustic music recorded live at London's Cafe OTO in 2014 and 2015. Chessex's compositions are characterized by textural density and microtonal tensions resulting in soundmasses exploring the physical dimensions of different acoustic spaces. In both pieces, titled 'Plastic Concrete' & 'Accumulation', the scores have been conventionally written for the acoustic ensemble and feature Noetinger's real time tape machine manipulations blurring the boundaries between classical notation and spontaneous improvisation. The result is a thrilling collective work, an evocative multilayered structure morphing into dark sonic abstractions.
