Thrill Jockey is happy to re-issue Tortoise’s ground breaking second LP “Millions Now Living Will Never Die”. Along with this re-issue the label is also offering a deal on bands first self titled debut album (which was re-issued on Thrill Jockey in 2002.

These re-issues are the forerunner for the release of Tortoise’s latest album release… “It’s All Around You” (THRILL115) scheduled for release on the 5th April 04.

Tortoise has always been a “thrill jockey” band. In Europe however up until now all of their albums have been licensed through third party labels such as City Slang, Warp etc.

Tortoise’s self-titled debut album was originally released back in May 1993. The album reverted from City Slang at the beginning of 2002 back to thrill jockey. “Millions Now Living Will Never Die” was released in 1997 also on City Slang.


Tortoise is Bundy Brown, Doub McComb (Brokeback, Eleventh Dream Day, Pullman), John Herndon (Isotope 217) John McEntire (production credits for Stereolab, The High Llamas, The For Carnation, Smog, and The Sea & Cake) and Dan Bitney (Isotope 217)
