The Soul album is one such challenge whoseauthor,Ksawery Wójciński, poses it primarily for himself. Music becomes a language of his most intimate confessions. This experiment has its price, though, as its participants are asked to make effort to understand the performer who addresses them only indirectly. Wójciński’s confession differs from the pseudo-artistic exhibitionism in that it is enveloped in metaphors. To reach the heart of the message one has to give meaning to it – to become engaged. The listener is pulled into the intrigue; by interpreting the implicit, he or she becomes a guide for Ksawery Wójciński. The Soul is there for an invitation to a dialogue – something to bear in mind by those who reach for the album. The invitation is addressed to those who need the music to be able to open up to oneself, and to others.
