My first conscious encounter with traditional music was when I was in nursery school. My dad would take me to the rehearsals of the International School of Traditional Music Ensemble directed by him and Monika Mamińska. Of course I was too ashamed to sing together with them back then, but I would listen to others sing in awe and with curiosity. Slowly and imperceptibly I absorbed the melodies, the scales, the sounds, the way of singing. Later I would ran to the rehearsals on my own and grew closer with the Ensemble members, also because the evenings would often end with dance parties.
If it had not been for those meetings, this album might have never been recorded. Inspired by them with my sister Anastazja and friends from high schools we started singing in the second
Line-up of the Ensemble. This is how the next stage of my adventure with traditional music began. After fifteen years of experiences I decided that the time has come to record my own album.
