Excerpt from an interview with David Bowes (Anxious #1):
Your latest album, "Etude," is something special in your career. How did it come about?

Thanks! I've long had a vision of our music being arranged for classical instruments... When Franck Dematteis contacted us and offered his services on violin and viola, my vision could finally come true... Franck played on "3 Arms and the Dead Cert," and it turned out wonderfully... I asked him to create arrangements for an entirely classical album, and that's how "Etude" came about... It's partly an exclusively instrumental album, but you can hear Julia's voice on some tracks... I limited myself to a guest appearance on "A'dam and Eva"... I wrote and rearranged a few compositions... and of course, I remixed them for the "Eternity" EP, which features tracks based solely on electronics... we're very happy with "Etude." This is something special for us...

"Eternity" also includes a cover of PURCELL's "Cold Genius." Why did you choose this track? Have you done any other covers in the past?

Franck actually chose this song as a cover for "Etude"... we liked it and agreed... we've done many other covers in the past... we still play Elvis Presley's song ("His Lates Flame") in concert.

A: In 1997, you collaborated with Franck Dematteis, a member of the Paris Opera, on the album 'Etude'. How did you convince him to collaborate, and what is its significance?

MB: Well, Franck wrote to me in 1995. He had been a long-time fan of ours and offered to play viola with us. I agreed, and he first appeared on '3 Arms and a Dead Cert.' After the success of that album, I asked him if he could help me create an album of orchestral versions of our compositions. 'Etude' is the result of that idea. Franck zagrał na "3 Arms And The Dead Cert", wyszło to wspaniale... poprosiłem go aby opracował aranżacje na, w całości klasyczny album i tak powstało "Etude"... częściowo jest to album wyłącznie instrumentalny, natomiast w niektórych utworach można usłyszeć głos Julii... sam ograniczyłem się do gościnnego występu w "A'dam and Eva"... Napisałem i przearanżowałem kilka kompozycji... i oczywiście zremiksowałem je dla EP-ki "Eternity", która zawiera utwory oparte wyłącznie na elektronice... jesteśmy bardzo zadowoleni z "Etude". Właściwie to Franck wybrał ten utwór jako cover dla potrzeb "Etude"... polubiliśmy go i wyraziliśmy zgodę... zrobiliśmy wiele innych coverów w przeszłości... wciąż gramy utwór Elvisa Presleya ("His Lates Flame") podczas koncertów.
