“When most of the stuff on your iPod has been revealed as retro-hawking or disingenuous schtick, Bickford's best lines will still be relevant and devastating, baking under the pale glow of his perfect Virginia tenor.” - Grayson Currin of North Carolina’s Independent Weekly
o poprzednich nagraniach:
"[You Win] is a truly wonderful album that catapulted to my top-10 list for 2005, and it's highly recommended." - Delusions of Adequacy
"Bickford's[voice] is strong and resonant. It attains the precarious ratio of gentleness to rawness that makes a singer memorable. It's musicians such as Bickford--pursuing individuality while honoring the greater tradition-- who distinguish themselves from the legion." - Pitchfork
"Bickford's voice is essential: Cracking and persistent, surviving though stranded, askance posturing elevates Bickford's personal vignettes past the point of clever. And that's what The Strugglers are." - Raleigh-Durham of The Independent Weekly
"[You Win] is an enjoyably morose album that will appeal to fans of The National as well as anyone looking for a more intelligent Smog."
- Comes With A Smile (UK)
Brice Randall Bickford od 2001 r. tworzy muzykę pod szyldem The Strugglers. Od tego czasu nagrał cztery pełne albumy. Podczas tras koncertowych po Stanach i Europie dzielił scenę z takimi wykonawcami jak: Destroyer (Hiszpania i Portugalia), Smog, David Bazan, Magnolia Electric Co., Greg Weeks, Centro-matic i Castanets. Czwarty album "The Latest Rights" został nagrany we współpracy ze skrzypkiem Danielem Hartem (grał u Johna Vanderslice'a, St. Vincent), multi-instrumentalistą Alexem Lazara (The Prayers oraz Tears of Arthur Digby Sellers) i wieloma utalentowanymi muzykami z Północnej Karoliny.
