The best of three serial albums, plus two songs never released and 4 covers, it is the record from the energic and vibrant concert of the Liberec folk-rock Jarret.
In 2008, Liberec Jarret band releases a new CD following three serial albums (Hic non sun Leones, Unikat, Vztahem zapni) which is the live concert recording from the Liberec theatre „Malé divadlo (The Small Theatre)“. Although the name of the new addition of band’s discography is Jarret Sobě, the new album is intended mainly to those who took a fancy for Jarret’s concerts because of their live and spontaneous expression. As Marek Štulíř says, the main idea was „… endeavour to catch natural energy of the band and to play songs which have accompanied us for a certain period of time and there was no space for them on any serial album or their concert form differs from the versions being already recorded."
The actual trend places the “equal sign“ between live recordings and selections of the best of the band’s production. This rule holds for most of music bands also. Naturally, Jarret conceived the selection of songs for its live album somewhat untraditionally. In addition to compositions that can be found on previous albums of the band and which used to get a new arrangement often, also songs taken over appear on the CD „Jarret sobě“. "There are 4 cover versions of our favourite singers (Suzanne Vega, Sheryl Crow and even Israeli singer with the pseudonym of NOA) which have been accompanying us for a long time. And then, also author compositions „Slavnosti ticha“ and „Blues pro 1.řadu“ that are the songs about 20 years old and which were written by Pavel Havlík for the group „… a hosté (and guests). We have been playing them for the whole period of Jarret’s existence but somehow, they were not suitable for any of our three CDs."
