Tim Daisy and Ken Vandermark know each other like inside out. They collaborate in several groups - The Vandermark 5, Bridge 61, Frame Quartet, Sound In Action Trio and Resonance Project. Almost from the very beginning of their collaboration, they have also been working on a duo project. They played their first concerts together at the end of 2002 and culminated in the album "August Music". The second album, recorded at the Poznań Dragon, was released on vinyl by Laurence Family ("Light on the Wall"). The musical formula they chose is the result of two fascinations. The first are the duet recordings of Don Cherry with Ed Blackwell, Anthony Braxton with Max Roach and Peter Brötzmann with Han Bennink. From Blackwell and Cherry, they adopt a similar, light and communicative formula of playing, they do not shy away from melodic simplicity and beauty understood in a very traditional spirit; from Braxton and Roach—great attention to song structure, but also rhythmic complexity; and Brötzmann and Bennink—energy and uncompromising. However, they enrich the music with what has always been Ken Vandermark's hallmark—a trance-like, rock-like motoricity. The second is the formal interplay between improvisation and composition, understood in the spirit of the creators of freely improvised music (not without the influence of John Cage and Morton Feldman). This, in this case, means a departure from the ornamental nature of jazz improvisation—improvisation is no longer introduced into the composition during its performance, but the composition is the result of a joint, in this case duet, improvisation. Composition is therefore a process realized during the concert in front of the audience. And because they know each other so well, the resulting compositions are complete. Sometimes trance-like, sometimes evoking blues or a jazzy, almost lyrical ballad.

"Tim Daisy i Ken Vandermark znają się jak "łyse konie". Współpracują ze sobą w ramach kilku grup - The Vandermark 5, Bridge 61, Frame Quartet, Sound In Action Trio czy Resonance Project. Niemal od samego początku współpracy realizują oni również projekt duetowy. Pierwsze koncerty grali razem już pod koniec 2002 roku i wieńczył je album "August Music". Druga płyta, nagrana w Poznańskim Dragonie ukazała się na winylu nakładem Laurence Family ("Light on the Wall"). Muzyczna formuła, którą wybrali jest owocem dwóch fascynacji. Pierwszą są duetowe nagrania Dona Cherry'ego z Edem Blackwellem, Anthony'ego Braxtona z Maxem Roachem czy Petera Brötzmanna z Hanem Benninkiem. Od Blackwella i Cherry'ego przyjmują oni podobną, lekką i komunikatywną formułę grania, nie uciekają od melodycznej prostoty i piękna rozumianego w bardzo tradycyjnym duchu; od Braxtona z Roachem - wielką dbałość o strukturę utworów, ale i rytmiczne komplikacje; a od Brötzmanna z Benninkiem - energię i bezkompromisowość. Wzbogacają jednak muzykę o to, co dla Kena Vandermarka zawsze było znakiem rozpoznawczym - transową, rockową motorykę. Drugą są formalne zależności improwizacji i kompozycji rozumiane w duchu idei twórców freely improvised music (nie bez wpływu idei Johna Cage'a i Mortona Feldmana). Oznacza to, więc w tym przypadku odejście od ornamentalnego charakteru jazzowej improwizacji - nie jest już ona wprowadzana do kompozycji w czasie jej wykonywania, ale to kompozycja jest efektem wspólnej, w tym przypadku duetowej, improwizacji. Kompozycja jest więc procesem realizowanym w trakcie koncertu na oczach widzów. A ponieważ znają się siebie nawzajem znakomicie - wychodzą z tego skończone kompozycje. Czasem transowe, czasem odwołujące się bluesa czy jazzowej, lirycznej niemal ballady."
