We waited long and impatiently for news from the Tarwater camp... In the spring of 2004, a new album by the band To Rococo Rot, personally associated with Tarwater, "Hotel Morgen" was released, so it was clear that Bernd Jestram and Ronald Lippok would keep us waiting and uncertain for a while longer.

In the autumn of 2004, on the anniversary compilation Kitty-Yo "Team Kitty-Yo" we find 2 previously unpublished songs, which seem to be a preview of a new album... However, they remained only on this compilation - the Berlin duo Tarwater recorded a new album with completely new material. After almost 3 years since the last album "Dwellers On The Threshold".

This time the album is released worldwide by Morr Music (known for promoting Lala Puna), but in Poland under the exclusive license of Gusstaff Rec., a company that has been associated with the band from the very beginning, distributed all previous albums, organized 5 concert tours in Poland (!!!) and even released a special Tarwater album for Polish fans "Not The Wheel" (2001). Work on the new album lasted a whole year, the band recorded it in their Berlin studio, created not only an album full of hits, but also preserved that mysterious atmosphere characteristic only of Tarwater, full of sound experiments and beautiful melodies. In these new songs we find a warm, softly trembling pulse, transporting the listener unnoticed to the next chapter, and the imagination draws strange, seemingly familiar landscapes, about which it is never known whether on the timeline they lie somewhere in the future or are part of some long-forgotten universe in which the truth once settled. While their earlier albums were described as "TripHop", "Electronic-pop", "minimal-pop" or "avant-pop", "The Needle was Travelling" cannot be classified with these terms, and the question of how much electronics and how much acoustic sounds, how much experiment and how much song tradition are in Tarwater's music loses its.......

Czekaliśmy długo i niecierpliwie na wieści z obozu Tarwater... Wiosną 2004 ukazała się nowa płyta związanego personalnie z Tarwater zespołu To Rococo Rot "Hotel Morgen", było więc jasne, że Bernd Jestram i Ronald Lippok potrzymają nas jeszcze trochę w tym wyczekiwaniu i niepewności.
Jesienią 2004 na jubileuszowej kompilacji Kitty-Yo "Team Kitty-Yo" znajdujemy 2 niepublikowane wcześniej utwory, które zdają się być już zapowiedzią nowego albumu... Pozostały one jednak wyłącznie na tej kompilacji - berliński duet Tarwater nagrał nowy album z całkowicie premierowym materiałem. Po niemal 3 latach od ostatniego albumu "Dwellers On The Treshold".

Tym razem płyta ukazuje się na świecie w wytwórni Morr Music (znanej min. z wypromowania Lali Puny), w Polsce jednak na wyłącznej licencji Gusstaff Rec., firmy, która jest z zespołem związana od samego początku, dystrybuowała wszystkie dotychczasowe albumy, zorganizowała w Polsce 5 tras koncertowych (!!!) i wydała nawet specjalną płytę Tarwater dla polskich fanów "Not The Wheel" (2001).
Praca nad nową płytą trwała cały rok, zespół nagrywał ją w swoim berlińskim studio, stworzył nie tylko album pełen przebojów, ale zachował także ten charakterystyczny tylko dla Tarwater tajemniczy klimat, pełen eksperymentów dźwiękowych i pięknych melodii. W tych nowych piosenkach znajdujemy ciepły, miękko drgający puls, przenoszący słuchacza niezauważenie w kolejny rozdział, a wyobraźnia rysuje dziwne, niby znajome krajobrazy, o których nigdy nie wiadomo, czy na osi czasu leżą gdzieś w przyszłości czy tez są częścią jakiegoś dawno zapomnianego wszechświata, w którym kiedyś zadomowiła się prawda. O ile ich wcześniejsze albumy były określane jako "TripHop", "Elektronic-pop", "minimal-pop" czy "avant-pop" to "The Needle was Travelling" nie sposób sklasyfikować tymi pojęciami, swój sens traci także pytanie, ile w muzyce Tarwater jest elektroniki, a ile akustycznych brzmień, ile eksperymentu a ile tradycji p.......
