Race’s ability to extract a level of textural, tonal and evocative detail from such a skeletal assemblage of instruments and turns of phrase is remarkable. From the creeping, tectonic fuzz and arcing, wraithlike underlay of opener Call Her Name and the dirty blues-noir of Slow Fry, to the sprawling, weighty pop of Too Many Zeroes and Coming Over, it’s striking in its austerity, and shattering in its impact. Race’s smoke-scarred baritone has never sounded so convincing.”

Poprzedni ich album “Fatalists” uzyskał 4-gwiazdkową ocenę w prestiżowym magazynie UNCUT i w międzynarodowej prasie niezwykle często określany jako “masterpiece”...

Piosenki Hugo Race'a tkwią we współczesnej pop-kulturze, jednak wyrastają z rock'n'rolla, soulu i delta-bluesa, często mocno zabarwione awangardową elektroniką.
