"Astigmatic", an album recorded by the Krzysztof Komeda Quintet, is a work that became the foundation of the Polish jazz scene. Recorded over 50 years ago, it is invariably described in the opinions of experts and ordinary jazz fans as the greatest album ever recorded by Polish musicians. This opinion is confirmed by plebiscites and surveys organized over the last several decades by radio programs (including Program III of the Polish Radio, Program II of the Polish Radio) and professional magazines (Jazz Forum). Krzysztof Komeda's album "Astigmatic" consistently received the most votes. "Astigmatic" is the flagship work of Krzysztof Komeda, an artist whose work is referenced by Polish musicians representing various generations and stylistic orientations. It is a myth whose power does not weaken, even though several dozen years have passed since the composer's death.
