Back in the late 90s somewhere in Croydon, South London a dark new exciting sound was emerging from the embers of 2step Garage, Drum & Bass, Dub and Grime. Fast forward 10 years and Dubstep had mutated into one of the most popular genre's in modern musical history, its unstoppable rise to prominence has been nothing short of incredible and its mass exposure has resonated globally across radio airwaves, festivals and events.
This 3CD education takes you on a journey through the records that have defined history. We kick off with literally the biggest Dubstep tracks of all time with Skream's remix of "In The Kill" by La Roux followed by the very first Dubstep #1 single by DJ Fresh with "Louder".
We then venture through the biggest breakthrough remixes on disc 2 that truly catapulted the genre into the limelight featuring the likes of Skrillex, Nero, Rusko and Flux Pavilion before we finally end in a plethora of early dub plates and forward thinking dubstep with foundational tracks from Benga, Breakage, Coki, Emalkay and Joy Orbison.
