The Szpilman programme created by Uri Caine, Ksawery Wójciński and Robert Rasz was created as a special project of the Tzadik Poznań Festival 2013, whose partner was the co-publisher of the album, the National Audiovisual Institute. This programme, dedicated to the figure and work of the outstanding composer, creator of classical music and many unforgettable songs that have permanently inscribed themselves in the history of 20th century culture.

Marek Edelman, the last commander of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, once said "Szpilman is a symbol of all those who survived, because there had to be dozens of improbable, miraculous cases - in order to survive." And such are the works of Władysław Szpilman - filled with joy and lightness, full of affirmation of life in all its manifestations.

The music of this composer and pianist, a student of the Conservatory. Fryderyk Chopin in Warsaw under the supervision of Józef Śmidowicz and Aleksander Michałowski and later the Academy of Arts in Berlin, where he studied with Artur Schnabel and Leonid Kreutzer (piano) and composition with Franz Schreker thanks to the film "The Pianist" by Roman Polański is known all over the world.

Uri Caine, one of the great innovators of contemporary music, as he himself says, "I heard Poland in Szpilman, because Szpilman uses your characteristic dance forms, but here and there I also sense Jewish accents in it. And in the songs, beautiful melodies, excellent use of moods, subtle sense of humor are captivating."

Szpilmanowski program stworzony przez Uri'ego Caine'a, Ksawerego Wójcińskiego i Roberta Rasza powstał jako projekt specjalny Tzadik Poznań Festival 2013, którego partnerem był współwydawca płyty Narodowy Instytut Audiowizualny. Program ten, poświęcony postaci i twórczości wybitnego kompozytora, twórcy muzyki klasycznej i wielu niezapomnianych piosenek, które na stałe wpisały się w historię kultury XX wieku.

Marek Edelman, ostatni dowódca powstania w getcie warszawskim, powiedział kiedyś „Szpilman jest symbolem tych wszystkich, którzy przeżyli, albowiem musiały być dziesiątki przypadków nieprawdopodobnych, cudownych - żeby przeżyć” I takie też – przesycone radością i lekkością, pełne afirmacji życia we wszelkich jego przejawach – są utwory Władysława Szpilmana.
Muzyka tego kompozytora i pianisty, studenta Konserwatorium im. Fryderyka Chopina w Warszawie pod kierunkiem Józefa Śmidowicza i Aleksandra Michałowskiego a później Akademii Sztuk w Berlinie, gdzie studiował u Artura Schnabla i Leonida Kreutzera (fortepian) oraz kompozycję u Franza Schrekera za sprawą filmu „Pianista” Romana Polańskiego znana jest na całym świecie.

(. . .) Album otwiera temat „Nie wierzę piosence", potraktowany przez Caine'a w tradycyjnym, jazzowym stylu. Improwizacja rozwija się swobodnie, podkreślając radosny temat. „Deszcz" stał się ciepłym, letnim deszczykiem, w którym wysokie dźwięki fortepianu sugestywnie imitują spadające krople.
