Their compositions are rooted in blues and rock'n'roll and are characterized by simplicity and austerity of expressive measures.
Their debut album was recorded in June 2012 at Adam Juniewicz Studio in Sopot.

They take their name after Tutwiler, Mississippi, a small town in the Mississippi Delta, where, as legend has it, in 1903 old blues met the new blues. There, at the platform of the railway station, W.C. Handy, a black arranger and composer, later referred to as “Father of the Blues” waited for the train and, as he noted later in his autobiography: “A lean loose-jointed Negro had commenced plunking a guitar beside me while I slept... As he played, he pressed a knife on the strings of the guitar in a manner popularized by Hawaiian guitarists who used steel bars....The singer repeated the line three times, accompanying himself on the guitar with the weirdest music I had ever heard”. The encounter inspired Handy to write a series of compositions which became the first widely published blues music top sellers. Tutwiler, MS is often referred to as the place where the blues were born. Here, the deep tradition of the 19th century met popular mass culture of the 20th century.
Tutwiler's music is a utopian, imaginary place where what is new interacts with tradition.

Tutwiler swoją nazwę zaczerpnęli od miasteczka w Delcie Mississippi w USA gdzie w 1903 roku stary blues spotkał nowego bluesa. Tam, na kolejowym peronie aranżer i kompozytor W.C. Handy, znany później jako Ojciec Bluesa (Father of the Blues), usłyszał “najdziwniejsze dźwięki jakie kiedykolwiek słyszał.” Spotkał tam śpiewającego gitarzystę grającego techniką slajd przy użyciu noża. Spotkanie to zainspirowało serię kompozycji Handy'ego, które stały sie pierwszymi masowo popularnymi bluesami.
