“After a ten date European tour with ‘Dave Rempis’ Percussion Quartet’ ,finishing in Pozanan, Poland, I jumped on a train for a short ride over to Berlin. Meeting up with two of my friends, who also happen to be two of my favorite musicians in the world, we spent an afternoon at Frangenheim studios producing sounds, drinking plenty of coffee, and having a blast doing it. Tim Daisy is a Chicago based percussionist, composer and educator working in the fields of improvised and composed music. Born and raised in northeastern Illinois, he moved to Chicago in 1997 and has since performed, recorded, and toured with many acclaimed musicians and ensembles from both the USA and abroad. Tim also maintains an active touring schedule, working with a number of musicians and ensembles and has traveled extensively throughout North America and Europe. Working in a number of different environments, he has composed for solo percussion, chamber groups, jazz ensembles, dance, theater, and film.
Tim has had the fortunate experience to work with many of the most cutting edge musicians currently working in the filed of improvised music including: Ken Vandermark, Jeb Bishop , Fred Lonberg-Holm, James Falzone, Dave Rempis, Steve Swell, John Tchicai, Mars Williams, Joe McPhee, Matt Bauder, Michael Zerang, and Frank Rosaly, and Aram Shelton.
Havard Wiik (1975) studied jazz and composition at the jazz department at Trondheim Music Conservatory. He is one of Norway’s most respected and profiled jazz pianists. He has for more than a decade been a member and founder of several the most important Norwegian ensembles (Atomic, Element, Free Fall) and he’s also a been first choice in accompaniment of several international jazz greats. He has toured all over the world with these groups. In 2004 he had the honourably role as ’artist in residence....... more
