On 10th February 2012, Sir Paul McCartney was honoured as the 2012 MusiCares Person Of The Year. This annual gala event in Los Angeles, founded in 1991, is always held in the week leading up to the Grammy Awards and honours an individual for a combination of musical achievement and dedication to philanthropy. The 2012 event followed the now well established tradition of some performances by Paul McCartney and some by a host of celebrity guests of many of the quintessential songs from across his career. It was a unique celebration of Paul McCartney’s music and a night that everyone present will always remember.
