Live recording of the legendary free jazz pianist with his international trio. Vyacheslav Ganelin was born in Moscow in 1944. He graduated from the Vilnius Conservatory in 1968. In the mid-1960s, the pianist founded a trio with the participation of drummer Vladimir Tarasov and saxophonist Vladimir Rizitski. In 1968, they played at the Estonian Jazz Festival together with Keith Jarrett and Charles Lloyd. In 1971, Rizitski was replaced by Vladimir Chekasin and the legendary trio Ganelin/Tarasov/Chekasin was formed - one of the most interesting formations from Eastern Europe, contributing to world jazz. The trio performed in Poland in 1976 at the Jazz Jamboree in Warsaw. After the trio disbanded in 1987, Ganelin left Lithuania and emigrated to Israel, where he lives to this day.
