Hugo Race, formerly of The Wreckery and the Bad Seeds and now an internationally based solo artist, producer and performer with acts such as Dirtmusic and Sepiatone, delivers intense sonic soundscapes that merge folk, experimentalism, electronica and rock.
Originally from the 1980's Melbourne post-punk music scene, Hugo has spent the last thirty years wandering the planet with his music from Buenos Airies to Timboctou.
Hugo's various collaborations and bands, spread over several continents, include:
Hugo Race Fatalists, in collaboration with Italian soundscape band Sacri Cuori, their new 5 track EP ('Orphans', release date March 7, 2014),
Dirtmusic, with American songwriter and producer Chris Eckman. Their fourth album Lion City, recorded in Mali in 2012, was released on Glitterbeat, March 26, 2014.
Sepiatone with Italian singer songwriter Marta Collica, their third album Echoes On released by Interbang Records (Italy) in November 2013.
Long Distance Operators (LDO), a new project with Belgian artist Catherine Graindorge, premiered at the Botanique, Brussels, May 16th 2014. Album release in 2015
No But Its True, an acoustic album of cover versions recorded in Sicily for Viceversa Records and produced by Italian songwriter and producer Cesare Basile.
The True Spirit - since 1989, 14 albums of trance industrial blues, the last release recorded in a maximum security penitentiary in Poland, Live in Wolow Jail 2009. 2015 Hugo and the Spirit have released a new album tentatively entitled THE SPIRIT on Glitterhouse Records

Hugo Race pochodzi z Australii, ale znany jest na całym świecie, także w Polsce, gdzie regularnie gra trasy koncertowe. Hugo Race jest wizjonerskim performerem, wokalistą, muzykiem, poetą i producentem. Pochodzi z Melbourne w Australii, lecz jedo podroże uczyniły z niego „obywatela świata“, od 25 lat mieszka i tworzy w Australii, na Sycylii, w Niemczech, Wielkiej Brytanii i USA. Piosenki Hugo Race'a tkwią we wspołczesnej popkulturze, jednak wyrastają z rock'n'rolla, soulu i delta-bluesa, często mocno zabarwione awangardową elektroniką.

Ze swoim zespołem The True Spirit i wieloma projektami pobocznymi, Hugo ucieka od wszelkich jednoznacznych etykiet, ponieważ stworzył własny obszar między rockiem, eksperymentem i psychodelią. Nie można rownież nie wspomnieć, że Hugo był członkiem-założycielem zespołu Nicka Cave'a Bad Seeds (pojawia się na pierwszej płycie „From Her To Eternity“ i na wielu kolejnych albumach). W 1985 założył kultową australijską art-punkową formację The Wreckery. Teraz współtworzy także supergrupę Dirtmusic (razem z Chrisem Eckmanem z The Walkabouts), ktora wspomagała też malijski Tamikrest. Hugo udzielał się także gościnnie na płycie Lilium „Felt“, wspołpracuje z brazylijskim Moses Complex, brytyjskim Pantaleimon, Rogall’s Electric Circus Sideshow, europejską „supergrupą“ Songs With Other Strangers, a także stworzył we Włoszech multimedialny projekt Merola Matrix, z włoską wokalistką i multiinstrumentalistką Martą Collicą tworzy duet Sepiatone a z belgiską skrzypaczką i wokalistką Catherine Graindorge projekt Long Distance Operators, którego debiutancka płyta u.......
