The band Algorhythm is a fresh breeze on the Tricity music scene. Thanks to the cooperation of the five artistically different individuals, in January 2013 the multifarious musical project that oscillates between melancholy and impulsiveness, musical geometry and spontaneous abstraction, came into existence. The music of AlgoRythm is mostly their own compositions teetering on the brink of the modern jazz. From the very beginning of its existence, Algorythm has been winning laurels and recognition, both in Poland and abroad. The band was a prize-winner at the IV RCK Pro Jazz Festival, a laureate of the XVI Polish Nationwide Review of the Young Jazz and Blues Bands in Gdynia, and also a finalist in European Jazz Contest 2013.

This is the debut album by the young Polish Jazz quintet Algorhythm, which comprises of trumpeter Emil Miszk, saxophonist Piotr Checki, pianist Szymon Burnos, bassist Krzysztof Slomkowski and drummer Slawomir Koryzno. It presents seven original compositions, five by Burnos and two by Miszk.

The classic Jazz quintet setting and the music are all well within the mainstream Jazz tradition, presenting modern, vital and interesting European version of the standard Jazz idiom, as usual drenched in the Polish lyricism and melancholy, which characterizes Polish Jazz. The compositions are well rounded and definitely non-trivial, with many odd rhythmic patterns; with altogether create an interesting listening experience. Personally I think the two compositions by Miszk are the best on the album, but the ones by Burnos do not fall far behind. The dynamic development and atmosphere of these pieces is quite remarkable.

All three soloists perform splendidly and play several impressive passages and the rhythm section does a superb job supporting them all the way through, handling the complex rhythms elegantly and flawlessly. Again Checki seems to be the most impres.......

Dzięki współpracy pięciu muzyków związanych z Akademią Muzyczną w Gdańsku, w styczniu 2013 r. został założony zespół Algorhythm.
Muzyka Algorhythmu oscyluje pomiędzy melancholią, impulsywnością, geometrią muzyki, a spontaniczną abstrakcją.
Pięciu członków grupy to muzycy jazzowi poszukujący nowych i świeżych brzmień. Muzycy długo czekali na wydanie albumu, aż teraz udała im się ta sztuka. Debiutancki krążek "Segments"właśnie ujrzał światło dzienne.
Prezentowany przez zespół materiał, to ich własne kompozycje balansujące na krawędzi współczesnego jazzu. Pomimo że skład bandu to klasyczny jazzowy kwintet (trąbka, saksofon tenorowy, fortepian, kontrabas i bębny), muzycy przede wszystkim w swojej twórczości inspirują się nowoczesnymi brzmieniami i stylistyką.
W skład zespołu wchodzą Piotr Chęcki (sax), Szymon Burnos (piano), Emil Miszk (trumpet) Sławek Koryzno (drums) i Krzysztof Słomkowski (double bass). Są to młodzi muzycy, mający w swoim dorobku artystycznym liczne trasy koncertowe z gwiazdami muzyki nie tylko jazzowej, sesje nagraniowe, płyty.
Od samego początku swojego istnienia, band zdobywa nagrody i uznanie zarówno w Polsce, jak i za granicą. Algorhythm jest laureatem w IV RCK Pro Jazz Festival, XVI Polski Ogólnopolskiego Przeglądu Młodych Zespołów Jazzowych i Bluesowych w Gdyni, a także finalistą w konkursie 2013 European Jazz Contest. Aktualnie muzycy wydają debiutancką płytę “Segments”, na której prezentują swój autorski materiał.
