In the 80s and 90s of the previous century, the name of Mikołaj Hertel appeared unusually frequently in Polish programmes devoted to el-music. Still more often, on the radio and television there would appear – anonymously – the music itself of the composer. Now, those charming compositions from the artist’s first stage of career are now available on “Epizod A” (Episode A).
Mikołaj Hertel has never been a slave to technology. A graduate of the Warsaw Higher School of Music, he would not focus wholly on the technical aspects of synthesisers, always giving priority to melody, rhythm and harmony.
