The pan-European magicians return with a new line-up. Lonely Drifter Karen's songs are as enchanting as ever, and their arrangements as lush and exciting. The general tone of 'Poles' is joyful and dynamic, with a profusion of synths, electric guitars, acoustic and electronic drums and irresistible melodies which have become the band's trademark.

The core of Lonely Drifter Karen - Austrian singer/guitarist Tanja Frinta and keyboardist/arranger Marc Meliá Sobrevias - has relocated to Brussels, Italian drummer Giorgio Menossi has left, and the young French guitarist Clément Marion has joined the band, with the addition of a drummer/percussionist.

Aside from the birth of this formidable new album, 2011 also saw Lonely Drifter Karen's first foray into China (where they did a successful 10-date tour), and the use of their music in a growing number of films and commercials.
