The Trio was founded in the spring of 2016. Artists such as Esbjörn Svensson, Hiromi Uehara and Tigran Hamasyan are where the band gets its inspiration from. The classification of Immortal Onion's music is rather challenging, as the musicians are not afraid to refer to many music genres. Their songs are influenced, among others by jazz, film music, minimalism, fusion, electronic music, and even progressive metal. In spite of this divergence in the styles they rotate in, they have succeeded in creating their own recognizable language.

Their distinctive sound is down to them skillfully combining energetic and rhythmically complex fragments with minimalist, trickier themes and lyrical themes.

The technical and musical proficiency of Immortal Onion's members would not be so surprising if not the fact that the oldest member, Ziemowit Klimek is currently in a 1st year student of composition and entertainment arrangement at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk in the class of Prof. Leszek Kułakowski. Wojtek Warmijak graduated high school last year and the other composer - Tomir Śpiołek will graduate this year from both high school and the Secondary School of Music in Gdansk.

Although Immortal Onion is a rather new band, the young trio has performed at many festivals including the 41st Film Festival in Gdynia. They have also composed the original soundtrack of two films shown at the following festivals: the 2nd Animated Film Festival in Gdansk and the 17th Silent Film Festival in Pod Baranami Cinema in Cracow.

As the laureates of the 6th edition of the program "Jazz phonographic debut" organized by the Institute of Music and Dance, they released their first album "Ocelot of Salvation", which had it's premiere at the Warsaw Summer Jazz Days Festival 2017.

Inspiracją dla powstania zespołu byli artyści tacy jak : Esbjörn Svensson, Hiromi Uehara czy Tigran Hamasyan. Sklasyfikowanie muzyki Immortal Onion okazuje się niemałym wyzwaniem, gdyż muzycy zespołu w swojej twórczości nie boją się nawiązywać do wielu gatunków. W ich utworach słychać wpływy m.in. jazzu, muzyki filmowej, minimalizmu, fusion, muzyki elektronicznej, a nawet progresywnego metalu. Mimo tak dużej rozbieżności stylistyk w których się obracają udało im się stworzyć własny rozpoznawalny język. Swoje charakterystyczne brzmienie zawdzięczają umiejętnemu łączeniu energicznych skomplikowanych rytmicznie fragmentów z minimalistycznymi, transowymi motywami i lirycznymi tematami.

Zespół powstał wiosną 2016 r. Jako laureaci VI edycji programu „Jazzowy debiut fonograficzny” organizowanego przez Instytut Muzyki i Tańca oraz Stypendium Kulturalnego Miasta Gdańsk wydają w tym roku swoją pierwszą płytę „Ocelot of Salvation”, której premiera będzie miała miejsce 6 lipca na festiwalu Warsaw Summer Jazz Days 2017. Trio miało okazję wystąpić m.in. na 41. Festiwalu Filmowym w Gdyni oraz z autorską ścieżką dźwiękową do dwóch filmów : na II Międzynarodowym Festiwalu Filmów Animowanych w Gdańsku i na 17. Festiwalu Kina Niemego w Kinie Pod Baranami w Krakowie.
