At the turn of the 80’s and 90’s, Europe fell in love again with progressive rock in a refreshed form. Fascination with bands such as Marillion and Yes was especially strong in countries such as the Netherlands or France. It was also strong in Germany, where Chandelier’s debut album was released in 1990.
“Pure” is an album which some journalists now refer to as the moment of birth of German neo-prog. Interesting compositions, perfectly synched band members and Martin Eden’s characteristic voice, very well suited for this type of music, created one unique whole, which still sounds interesting and fresh nearly three decades later. The new issue of “Pure” is extended with an additional CD featuring the “Fragments” album from 1988, which had previously only been released on tape – no longer available today.
