The Kontrabelius band came into being out of fun and shared fascination with music. The daughter and father made their first songs at home using the simplest recording tools.
Afterwards, "the band" kept recording other sounds that were chaotically stored on the hard drive. When the pandemic and the first lockdown started, the band members got isolated from the outside world, were forced to work and study at home and had to change their habits. Under such circumstances, new songs started taking shape between the kitchen and the living room. This time, the songs were stored in an organized manner and the fist recorded one called "Epidemia (Epidemic)" opens the EP. The session was spontaneous, the lyrics reflected the situation in our city, in Poland, in the world. At some point, we thought why not to release the recorded material? So we did it - thanks to modern technologies it is really easy to present home-made music. The EP called "I always sleep in the evening" contains the pieces recorded mostly during the first lockdown and one older song that was re-discovered during browsing the home hard drives. You are kindly invited to get to know our "family" creations. Maybe we will come up with something new quite soon, or maybe the duet will never record anything again...time will tell, this very strange time.

Zespół zrodził się z zabawy i wspólnej fascynacji muzyką. Córka z ojcem, w domu, bawiąc się najprostszymi narzędziami do rejestracji muzyki, dokonywali pierwszych nagrań. Od tamtej pory „zespół” rejestrował kolejne dźwięki, które lądowały nieuporządkowane na twardym dysku. W pewnym momencie okazało się że nadszedł czas lockdownu, czas który wymusił na Nich pracę zdalną, naukę zdalną, odizolowanie się od rzeczywistości i zmianę codziennych nawyków. W tych warunkach pomiędzy kuchnią a pokojem zaczęły powstawać kolejne nagrania materializujące się w pełno- wymiarowe kompozycje. Utwory zaczęły być porządkowane. Pierwszy „Epidemia” otwiera to wydawnictwo. Utwory powstawały spontanicznie, tematy „piosenek” były odpowiedzią na to co się działo w naszym mieście, w Polsce, czy na świecie. W pewnym momencie pojawia się myśl że skoro to zostało zarejestrowane to może warto to wydać. Dzisiejsze możliwości techniczne pozwalają swobodnie prezentować taką twórczość, również domową. Tak też uczyniono. Na EP „I always sleep in the evening” weszły utwory nagrane głównie podczas lockdownu, ale również jedno starsze nagranie które zostało odkryte podczas przeczesywania domowych dysków. Serdecznie zapraszamy do zapoznania się z tą „rodzinną” twórczością. Może najbliższy czas przyniesie coś nowego. A może już nigdy więcej nic nie zostanie przez ten duet nagrane,czas pokaże, ten dziwny czas.
