“Humanity” is a thoroughly thought-out piece: the concept of linking nature with an algorithm is nothing more than a successful attempt to justify the organic intertwining of more traditional elements, i.e. quasi-bigband style (not only jazz big bands, but also classical symphony orchestras or commercial entertainment orchestras of the second half of the 20th century) with newer trends such as jazz fusion or contemporary dance music. "

Filip Żółtowski Quartet - a young band from Gdańsk founded in August 2020, consisting of students and graduates of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk. In 2020, the quartet won 3rd place at the Blue Note Jazz Competition. Despite its young experience, the band has already performed at the Jazz Jantar festivals (premiere of material from the Humanity album) and at the Sopot Molo Jazz. In its music, it combines the traditions of jazz music with modern sounds and melodious themes, drawing from Polish folklore. It is a fusion of jazz music, often heavily improvised, with electronic sounds inspired by producers known more from the pop or EDM scene (e.g. Flume, Medasin), as well as hip-hop beats in the style of James Yancey (J.Dilla). If we were to define the main point connecting this fusion of genres, it would be jazz music, in the style of Steve Coleman and Five Elements or Brad Mehldau.

Filip Żółtowski Quartet - młody gdański zespół założony w sierpniu 2020 roku, w skład którego wchodzą studenci oraz absolwenci Akademii Muzycznej w Gdańsku. Kwartet w 2020 roku zdobył 3 miejsce na Blue Note Jazz Competition. Zespół mimo swojego młodego stażu występował już na festiwalach Jazz Jantar (premiera materiału z płyty Humanity) oraz na Sopot Molo Jazz. W swojej muzyce łączy tradycje muzyki jazzowej z nowoczesnymi brzmieniami i śpiewnymi tematami, czerpiącymi z polskiego folkloru. Jest to fuzja muzyki jazzowej, często mocno improwizowanej, z elektronicznymi brzmieniami inspirowanymi producentami znanymi bardziej ze sceny muzyki pop czy EDM (np. Flume, Medasin), a także hip-hopowymi beat’ami w stylu produkcji James’a Yancey (J.Dilla). Jeśli mielibyśmy zdefiniować główny punkt łączący tą fuzję gatunków, to będzie to właśnie muzyka jazzowa, w stylu Steve'a Coleman'a and Five Elements czy Brad'a Mehldau.
