Narkun Trio began its activity in 2020 on the initiative of three students of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk at the time. The rare line-up serves as a starting point for the musicians to explore issues such as space, colour and the meaning of time in music, and also provokes them to give instruments roles that are often different from the conventional ones.

An important element of the band's work is improvisation and risk-taking, but the musicians' inspirations also reach back to broadly understood classical music.

In 2021, the trio performed in the finals of the Young Jazz and Blues Bands Review at the "Ucho" club in Gdynia, during which guitarist Maja Biesek was honoured with a distinction as a soloist.
The result of this award was a recording session in the Radio Gdańsk studio, during which the musicians recorded material for their debut album.

Działalność Narkun Trio rozpoczęło się w 2020 roku z inicjatywy trojga ówczesnych studentów Akademii Muzycznej w Gdańsku. Rzadko spotykany skład służy muzykom za punkt wyjścia do eksplorowania takich zagadnień jak przestrzeń, barwa czy znaczenie czasu w muzyce, a także prowokuje do nadawania instrumentom ról nierzadko innych niż konwencjonalne.
Ważnym elementem twórczości zespołu jest improwizacja i podejmowanie ryzyka, jednak inspiracje muzyków sięgają również do szeroko rozumianej muzyki klasycznej.

W 2021 roku trio wystąpiło w finale Przeglądu Młodych Zespołów Jazzowych i Bluesowych klubu "Ucho" w Gdyni, podczas którego gitarzystka Maja Biesek została uhonorowana wyróżnieniem jako solistka.
Owocem tej nagrody była sesja nagraniowa w studiu Radia Gdańsk, podczas której muzycy dokonali rejestracji materiału na debiutancki album.
