Recorded with great care in Monochrom Studio, the debut material for the album Alan Balcerowski Quintet is sophisticated, elegant jazz. The direction of the quintet's work is determined by the fascination with mainstream jazz music and the love of acoustic sound. The composition of the band with two wind instruments allows for exceptional sonoristic impressions and a wealth of improvisational diversity, which constitute an essential part of the presented pieces.
The fully original program of the album "Looking Ahead" is eight diverse compositions by the leader, which leave room for both class arrangements and juicy improvisational displays. The narrative of the quintet obviously gravitates towards jazz tradition, but every now and then the traditional framework is burst by the freshness, openness and uniqueness of the band's sound.
"Alan Balcerowski's music proves that there is still room in mainstream jazz to speak with your own voice, and in a very attractive way"
Maciej Sikała

Kierunek twórczości kwintetu wyznacza fascynacja muzyką jazzową głównego nurtu oraz zamiłowanie do akustycznego brzmienia. Skład zespołu z dwoma instrumentami dętymi umożliwia wyjątkowe wrażenia sonorystyczne i bogactwo różnorodności improwizacji, które stanowią zasadniczą część prezentowanych utworów.
