Spear emerged from the depths of the turn of the 80s and 90s, marked by extremely intensive musical, aesthetic and life experiments and explorations. Industrial and post-industrial mixed with electronic and electroacoustic avant-garde. Areas sometimes inhabited by Nocturnal Emissions, Coil, Test Department, SPK, PTV with Xanakis, Stockhausen, Vares and early Panderecki. Dadaism, surrealism, futurism with Fluxus, avant-garde film, video art and computer art. Magical ambient enveloped in esoteric glow...

Spear's music emanates that primal, menacing beauty, about which Rilke wrote: "beauty is only the beginning of terror". Except that on "In Search Of Sparks" the terror already begins - the moment when, in the focused tone of the ritual, the endless wave of yearning, unearthly subtle music, woven from echoes, calls, hypersensitive premonitions and esoteric intuitions, spreads. The story of the reality of this world seen from a perspective that also includes what is superreal begins. The specific sounds processed and prepared by Spear become sensual and spiritual at the same time, shrouded in mist and at the same time almost subconsciously close, going beyond the grasps of imagination, and at the same time carrying a nostalgic, non-verbal message convincing to identify with it. A session with Spear's music requires complete commitment, it is dangerous for those who prefer to avoid the most important questions, but if someone is ready to search, the apparent melancholy of "searching for sparks" will prove to be maximally creative and inspiring for them. Wznowienie drugiej płyty legendarnego zespołu, pierwotnie wydanej w 1997 roku przez Obuh.

Spear wyłonił się z odmętów przełomu lat 80. i 90., naznaczonych skrajnie intensywnymi poszukiwaniami i eksperymentami muzycznymi, estetycznymi i życiowymi. Industrial i postindustrial mieszały się z elektroniczną i elektroakustyczną awangardą. Okolice zamieszkiwane czasem przez Nocturnal Emissions, Coil, Test Department, SPK, PTV z Xanakisem, Stockhausenem, Varesem i wczesnym Pandereckim. Dadaizm, surrealizm, futuryzm z Fluxusem, filmem awangardowym, sztuką wideo i sztuką komputerową. Magiczny ambient spowity ezoterycznym blaskiem...

Muzyka Spear emanuje tym pierwotnym, groźnym pięknem, o którym pisał Rilke: "piękno jest tylko przerażenia początkiem". Tyle, że na "In Search Of Sparks" przerażenie już się zaczyna – z chwilą gdy w skupionym tonie rytuału rozlewa się bezkresną falą tęskna, nieziemsko subtelna, utkana z ech, zewów, nadwrażliwych przeczuć i ezoterycznych intuicji muzyka. Rozpoczyna się opowieść o rzeczywistości tego świata widzianej z perspektywy, która obejmuje również to, co nadrzeczywiste. Dźwięki konkretne przetworzone i spreparowane przez Spear stają się równocześnie zmysłowe i uduchowione, owiane mgłą i równocześnie wręcz podskórnie bliskie, wykraczające poza chwyty wyobraźni, a przy tym niosące nostalgiczne, pozawerbalne przesłanie przekonujące by się z nim utożsamić. Seans z muzyką Spear wymaga zupełnego zaangażowania, jest niebezpieczny dla tych, którzy wolą unikać najważniejszych pytań, jeśli jednak ktoś gotowy jest szukać pozorna melancholia "poszukiwania iskier" okaże się dla niego maksymalnie kreatywna i inspirująca.
