It is difficult to define and categorize the two musicians because they do not belong only to one genre and demonstrate with how much mastery and naturalness one can move from one musical culture to another without ever creating ruptures. Pasquale Mirra, originally from Ravello, is considered one of the most interesting and talented vibraphonists on the Italian jazz scene and beyond. Hamid Drake, originally from Louisiana, was one of the protagonists of the Chicago scene, an incredible contemporary jazz drummer, alongside Don Cherry from 1978 until his death in 1995.
