Sacred and sinful songs are the most distinct division of music recognized by the inhabitants of Poland's eastern border. They express the natural need to separate the secular sphere of life from the religious. Following this division, Werchowyna has recorded its songs on two separate albums.

Werchowyna has been singing for many years, with changing members but with unwavering passion. The band continues to be inspired by the music of our eastern neighbors. Some time ago, they put aside their instruments and focused on polyphonic singing, striving to preserve the spirit of song and recreate the traditional manner of singing.

Pieśni święte i grzeszne to najbardziej wyrazisty podział muzyki, jaki uznają mieszkańcy polskiego pogranicza wschodniego. Wyrażają w nim naturalną potrzebę oddzielenia świeckiej sfery życia od religijnej. Idąc za tym podziałem Werchowyna nagrała swe pieśni na dwie odrębne płyty.
Werchowyna śpiewa już wiele lat, w zmieniającym się składzie, ale z niezmienną pasją. Inspiracją dla zespołu wciąż jest muzyka naszych wschodnich sąsiadów. Jakiś czas temu odłożyli instrumenty i skoncentrowali się na śpiewie wielogłosowym, starając się zachować ducha pieśni i odtwarzać tradycyjną manierę śpiewu.
