THE TABLE is a performance/music film about four men who play on the table.
With sticks, bowls, knives, hands and a mixing desk, the Karibo band play on the specially made original table - a wooden instrument with unique acoustic qualities. It`s a piece of furniture with soul, sensitive to the slightest touch and uniquely resonating. Amplification of the sound is both in the surface of the table and in the details hidden in the table.
The composition key elements of the performance stand for the four directions compass presented in the order: EAST | SOUTH | WEST | NORTH
Each part has different sound characteristics, it has also different range of musical reference. Exotic, windy-steppe ethno and maximal sound reduction, that refers to the Zen culture, meet in the “East” with Polish folk song and traditional song from the central Poland. Dynamic rhythms of the “South” invokes the culture of the Dark Continent, South America and Antipodes. The “West” is an energetic collage of industrial motorics, film themes, and songs of modern entertainment. The “North” dissolves all the acoustics in transparent, sea ambience, drops repetition, grating
sound of the wood and breathing occurrences.
Surreal and funny acting details complete the whole of the composition in a spectacular way, emphasizing the emotions coming from music that is performed in such an unusual way.

"This movie had no right to be published quickly. Although shooting it on a set built on the stage of the Capitol Music Theatre took only sixty hours, it was the detailed postproduction that took us another ten months.

Filmowy zapis audio-spektaklu zespołu Karbido pt. "Stolik".
Niezwykły koncert, w którym czterech muzyków gra na specjalnie zaprojektowanym instrumencie - drewnianym stole mającym unikalne właściwości akustyczne.

Na całość, balansującą pomiędzy spektaklem, koncertem i audio-performance, składają się cztery odsłony odpowiadające czterem stronom świata. Każda z nich ma odmienny charakter brzmieniowy: egzotyczne, stepowo-wietrzne etno i dźwiękowy minimalizm nawiązujący do kultury zen, spotykają się we „Wschodzie” z poleską pieśnią ludową i tradycyjną przyśpiewką z centralnej Polski. Dynamiczne rytmy „Południa” odwołują się do kultury czarnego lądu, Ameryki Południowej i Antypodów. „Zachód” jest energicznym kolażem industrialnej motoryki, melodii filmowych i piosenek wspóczesnej rozrywki. „Północ” z kolei rozpuszcza wszelką akustykę w przezroczystych, morskich ambientach, repetycjach kropel, chrobocie drewna i zdarzeniach oddechowych.

"Ten film nie miał prawa powstać szybko.
Chociaż zdjęcia nakręcone na scenie Teatru Capitol zajęły tylko 60 godzin, to detaliczna postprodukcja zabrała następne 10 miesięcy.
