Released in October of 1998, 'The Hawaiian Bronco' is the fourth record from Washington DC's The Sorts. The record was recorded by Juan Carrera of The Warmers. From start to finish the hawaiian bronco has a much different feel to it than their past works. With added tracking, extra instrumentation (Fred Erskine of June of 44, The Crownhate Ruin, Him, The Boom plays trumpet and Carlo Cennamo of The Boom, Him plays titleo Sax) and overdubs by all members on this record, The Sorts have taken their first giant step towards an titleogether completely different sound which is less rock and more dub influenced.
As for the artwork on this record, it's actually photographs from the TV show 'Hawaii Five O', and is of two guys pulling a dead body out of the back of a Ford Bronco. The photos were taken by Cynthia Connolly one day while watching the show.
