"...Wszystko jest tutaj inne niż to, co preferuję na co dzień. Nie ma tu grama komponowanych tematów, tylko improwizacja. Zamiast rzetelnej rytmicznej podstawy otrzymujemy arsenał rozrzuconych dźwięków, często nie wydobywanych z instrumentów niestandardowy sposób. Miast harmonii, jej rozwydrzone przeciwieństwo. I jednak uważam, że płyta jest naprawdę rewelacyjna. To muzyka przestrzeni, wibruje i powoli dociera do słuchaczy lub atakuje słuchacza kaskadą suchych niczym wióry dźwięków. Francois Houle potrafi na klarnecie naprawdę wiele � zagrać tradycją frazę, ale i wydobyć z instrumentu piski wybiegające daleko poza skalę czy chropawy zgrzyt przypominający ludzki krzyk. Potrafi niczym Rolad Kirk improwizować na dwóch instrumentach równocześnie. Na osobny artykuł zasługuje inwencja Joelle Leandre. Francuska basistka dużo gra smyczkiem, czasem dubluje dźwięki instrumentu własnym głosem, uderza w instrument, ale też gra poniżej mostka lub dwa smyczkami równocześnie. Cały czas jednak reaguje na poczynania partnerów, zwłaszcza Raymonda Strida. To szwedzki muzyk, który jak nikt unika tradycyjnego grania na bębnach � wykorzystuje w tym celu arsenał talerzy i małych instrumentów, którymi uderza � jedne o drugie � lub gra na nich smyczkiem. Potrafi �zawiesić� dźwięk i dać mu wybrzmieć, a wraz z Leandre wychwytują swoje pomysły w pół sekundy. Nie ma tu perfekcyjnego, nieludzkiego porządku, ale nie ma też bałaganu. Jedna zasada � porozumie. Muzyka tu zawarta jest świadectwem na to, jak wiele można zagrać i jak pięknie wybrzmieć jeśli tylko potrafi się słuchać partnera."
