The eclectic Hypernashion crew, with a Polish-Canadian pedigree, is based in Winnipeg; a city in the middle of the Canadian prairies.

The album “Free West” was inspired by artists like Adrian Sherwood, Moby, and the Orb; as well as classic reggae bands from Poland such as Izrael, Gedeon Jerubbaal, and Vavamuffin. On “Free West” you can also hear the echoes of Polish rock music from the eighties.

While producing the album the band had support from Mariusz “MakaRon” Wawrzyniak - a former member of the 80s reggae band Gedeon Jerubbal, with whom he continues to collaborate. On the LP you can hear contemporary dub, house, and jungle rhythms. In fact, Jamila “Bombah” Ezzahir operates primarily in the jungle style. Bombah was born in Krakow and is now stationed in Victoria, British Columbia. Bombah provided three remixes which can be found on the “Free West” album.

W przygotowaniu płyty ekipę wspierał Mariusz „MakaRon” Wawrzyniak – w latach 80tych członek zespołu Gedeon Jerubbaal, formacji z którą wciąż współpracuje.

Na płycie “Free West” usłyszeć można współczesne rytmy w stylu progressive dub, house, czy jungle. To właśnie w stylu jungle gra Jamila „Bombah” Ezzahir, załogantka urodzona w Krakowie a obecnie operująca w Viktorii, w Kolumbii Brytyjskiej. Bombah przygotowała trzy remiksy znajdujące się na płycie „Free West”.
