Ziriguiboom/Crammed are very excited and proud to introduce CELSO FONSECA, one of Brazil's best kept secrets. Having collaborated with the biggest names (from GILBERTO GIL to CAETANO VELOSO through MARISA MONTE and BEBEL GILBERTO), CELSO now releases 'Natural', his first international solo album. Revisiting the very roots of bossa/samba, sporting an instrumentation purposefully stripped down to CELSO's caressing sensual voice and magical acoustic guitar playing topped with percussion and acoustic bass, 'Natural' combines inspiration and limpidity, summoning up images of effortless elegance and style. The album was recorded in 2002 in Rio, at CELSO's own Geléia Geral studio (which he runs in a partnership with GILBERTO GIL). It features CELSO singing some of his most recent and compelling songs as well as bossa standards such as BADEN POWELL's 'Consolaçao' and Jobim's 'She's A Carioca' (on which he duets with another new Ziriguiboom act, young 'Sao Paulo Confessions' singer CIBELLE). CELSO has invited some excellent musicians to play with him for the occasion: ROBERTINHO SILVA on drums and percussion (ROBERTINHO is the drummer from MILTON NASCIMENTO's group), DANIEL JOBIM (TOM's grandson) on the piano and JORGE HÉLDER on bass (from CHICO BUARQUE's group). CELSO has also been using street recordings, for additional real Rio ambience. CELSO FONSECA's 'Natural' swathes you in voluptuous, rich layers of silky smoothness. One to curl up to.
