The band met at Nottingham University in the late '90s, and whilst sharing a haunted house together, their appetite for musical exploration was ignited and fuelled. Wielding escalating guitars, violin and an enigmatic frontman in Dan Eastop, they marry a variety of influences to create their own definition of magic. Through their first couple years of playing up and down the UK, Seachange have established themselves as a deadly live proposition with a flair for the epic coupled a ferocity that can't be faked.

Seachange aren't merely adept at a crazy melange of the anthemic & hypnotic; there are some brilliant songs happening inside the tornado. And the end results are something undefinably great. This band have got charisma and presence to spare, but they could wear paper bags over their skulls and still get the job done.

Jeden z bardziej godnych uwagi rockowych debiutów 2004 r. Albumem „Lay Of The Land” sekstet z Nottingham ratuje honor brytyjskiej muzyki, mocno nadwerężony ostatnimi sukcesami retrorockowych wykonawców w rodzaju The Darkness czy innych młodocianych pukrockowych pogrobowców.

Doskonały głos Dana Eastopa, ciekawy repertuar, klasyczne gitarowe brzmienie wzbogacone skrzypcami Johanny Woodnutt, doskonałe wyczucie klimatu i dramaturgii utworów budzą mnóstwo skojarzeń z muzyką z wspominanych z rozrzewnieniem lat 80. - czasów dominacji Joy Division/New Order, Nicka Cave’a, Crime & The City Solution, The Cure czy Wire. To przyjemne skojarzenia, jednak ani na jotę nie podważają one ani oryginalności, ani też wiarygodności Seachange. Seachange potrafi bowiem poruszyć do żywego niekonwencjonalnie podanymi, emocjonalnymi balladami w rodzaju „Anglokana”, „Nightwatch” czy „Come On Sister”, po mistrzowsku wykonuje rockowe hymny („Glitterball”), potrafi też ogłuszyć nagłym gitarowym atakiem („Forty Nights”).

Nic dziwnego, że po dwóch lat niestrudzonego objeżdżania klubów nazwa zespołu jest gwarancją doskonałego koncertu i magnesem przyciągającym publiczność spragnioną prawdziwego rocka.
