Their leader, percussionist Bamba Dembele, was a founding member of the Super Djata Band, who pioneered the raw Malian music style in the 1970s. We'll hear from Super Djata's guitarist and singer Zani Diabate's last recordings, from Cheikh Lo's new album with a track featuring fine Lebanese trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf and one from Ibrahim's jazz album 'Wind.' Also Kiran Ahluwalia's unique blend of Saharan Desert Blues with Indian and Pakistani styles.
