Kim Hiorthoy combines weird beats, lo-fi/leftfield electronics, field recordings, toy-instruments, electro-acoustic, cut-up, samples, glitch, loops, gitar, violin and piano. With this he creates delicate, beautiful, melodic and organic electronica. Personal, playful and truly original! 2002 saw the release of “Melke” an album where Kim Hiorthoy has collected most of the work done since the acclaimed “Hei” album and is described by Hiorthoy himself as “a collection of remixes, 7 inches, rejected tracks and tracks for compilations 2000-2002.” . Kim Hiorthoy is also well known for his illustrations and graphic design. He has among others created the artwork for the Rune Grammofon label. He has also released a designbook titeled "Tree Weekend" on Die Gestalten Verlag in Germany
