Recording of a concert that took place in the Warsaw club Pardon, To Tu in the Nowy Teatr Community Centre, 13 September 2017. Two legends of the British improvised music scene met: saxophonist Evan Parker and percussionist Eddie Prévost.

Parker's advanced saxophone improvisations reveal the endless possibilities of free music. There is a circular breath, harmonics and chords, but also a magically inventive evolution of uninterrupted, rhythmic progressions. This time Parker synchronizes with Prévost, the bold drummer of the AMM group. The duo's music may seem abstract, which is a rather obvious revelation, but the excellent sound material maintains a consistently high level of attention, surprising and discovering new things every now and then. The strong and sharp music is devoid of aggression, it does not stifle. The musicians throw the truth "straight out" (in-yourface) - that's how John Cage described Satie's music. One would like to say that these are masterful concerts, intertwining the artistry of two masters - but this is an unpretentious, technical mastery, where the vastness and accessibility of craft and invention is supported by experience and freshness.

Rejestracja koncertu, jaki się odbył w warszawskim klubie Pardon, To Tu w Świetlicy Nowego Teatru, 13 wrzesnia 2017. Spotkały się dwie legendy brytyjskiej sceny muzyki improwizowanej: saksofonista Evan Parker i perkusjonalista Eddie Prévost.

Zaawansowane improwizacje saksofonowe Parkera odkrywają nieskończone możliwości wolnej muzyki. Jest tam cyrkulacyjny oddech, alikwoty i akordy, ale też magicznie pomysłowa ewolucja nieprzerwanych, rytmicznych przebiegów. Tym razem Parker synchronizuje się z Prévostem, śmiałym perkusistą grupy AMM. Muzyka duetu może wydawać się abstrakcyjna, co jest objawieniem dość oczywistym, ale znakomity materiał dźwiękowy utrzymuje niezmiennie wysoki poziom uwagi, co chwila zaskakując i odkrywając nowe. Mocna i ostra muzyka pozbawiona jest agresji, nie dławi. Muzycy rzucają prawdę „prosto z mostu” (in-yourface) – tak John Cage wyraził się o muzyce Satie. Chciałoby się powiedzieć, że to koncerty mistrzowskie, splatające kunszt dwóch mistrzów – ale to mistrzostwo bezpretensjonalne, techniczne, gdzie ogrom i dostępność rzemiosła i inwencji poparta jest doświadczeniem i świeżością.
