After a very successful album Družina (Entourage) from 2004 (11th place in World Music Charts Europe), the new CD entitled Tragare is again based on contemporary adaptations of folklore music from all regions of Slovakia. Instruments ranging from drums to guitars, bass, violin, shepherd long pipes, pipes and various percussions sound in the new album. The group does not avoid experiments when arranging folklore music, which are not, however, at the expense of intelligibility and tradition. As the bandmaster Aty Béreš says: we do not want to make big art and record something that we would not be able to play live at concerts; we make music for people. A big asset is the participation of the producer, singer and percussionist Vinx, who co-operated with Sting, UB 40 and Stevie Wonder, among others. You will definitely find what you expect of the Družina group, that is pleasant and well arranged Slovak folklore music.

Początki zespołu Družina sięgają 2000 roku, kiedy to grupa muzyków (folklorystów, jazzmen’ów i artystów rockowych) zebrała się, a ich różne adaptacje muzyki folklorystycznej Słowacji pozwoliły na stworzenie nowego stylu, który nazwali „ethnobeat”. Zespół – pod nazwą Jej Družina - bardzo często występował zarówno na żywo, jak i w telewizji, na Słowacji i poza jej granicami (Czechy, Węgry, Polska, Szwajcaria, Francja).

W roku 2001 zespół wydał CD zatytułowany „Jej Družina” – płyta ta nadal dobrze się sprzedaje w Europie.

W połowie roku 2002 zespół rozpadł się na dwie części – jednym z nich jest właśnie zespół Družina. Członkowie starego zespołu: Aty Béreš (gitara basowa), Boris Brna (prekusja) i Miťa Almášiová (wokal) zaprosili do wspólnego koncertowania swoich przyjaciół: Miroslava Baloga (skrzypce), Janko Šimiaka (flet, akordeon), Martina Sabova (gitara, mandolina) i Danę Ferienčíkovą (pierwszy wokal) – w ten sposób powstał nowy, profesjonalny zespół.

W sierpniu 2004 roku agencja nagraniowa Barrandov Records z Czech wydała pierwsze CD zespołu zatytułowane „Družina”. W marcu 2005 roku płyta ta zajęła 11 miejsce na jednej z prestiżowych list World Music Charts Europe, a konkurowała ze 164 CD z całego świata.
