A decade ago French dance music emerged in the international clubs. From one day to the other acts like Etienne de Crécy, Alex Gopher, Daft Punk, Air and Dimitri from Paris were known by everybody. The excessive use of filter-effects is what made the new sound so unique. 10 years later it is recognized that the genre has enormously developed, but only a few musicians are from Paris. Of course France possesses lots of top-producers like Claude Monnet, DJ Gregory, Bob Sinclair, Julien Jabre or Martin Solveig, who all play in the first league of the club-scene, but only a few of them use French vocals. The reason is that all French music-producers in the club scene work exclusively for the international market. If you want French club-music, where you can hear the French roots, you have to dig deeper. This is exactly what we did. On the „before midnight“-side you will find mainly lounge-tracks that play in clubs worldwide. Music from artists like Natali Lorio, Thievery Corporation, Dining Rooms, and Naomi, who underlines, that there are only a few languages on this planet that transport intimacy as good as French. We had to leave the also attractive new French chanson out of this, because it would have blown the dimensions of a double cd. Instead of this two all-time classics made its way on this compilation: Max Berlin´s „Elle et Moi“ and Grace Jones´s „La Vie En Rose“. In the traditional understanding of club music, hip hop, r&b & reggae are out of consideration, but right now there is a great dynamism developing in these genres, so that an exclusion would be irresponsible. Especially in these styles lots of immigrants of the second generation are very active; people that will increasingly affect the music business in France. On the double album you will find these titles by K-Maro, Daddy Nuttea, Clotaire K., Assia, Sens Unik and Les Nubians on the „before midnight“- side. The „after midnight.......

Jakąś dekadę temu Francuska Muzyka Taneczna pojawiła się w większości międzynarodowych klubów.......... Od tego dnia bardzo wielu artystów, takich jak Etienne de Crecy, Alex Gopher, Daft Punk, Air czy Dimitri from Paris stało się doskonale znanymi wszystkim. Nieumiarkowane lub wręcz „przesadne” stosowanie syntezatorowych efektów tzw. „filtrów” stało się znakiem rozpoznawczym i unikalnym dla tej sceny.......







10 lat później francuska klubowa jest już w pełni dojrzała i rozwinięta, jednak tylko kilku znanych artystów pochodzi z Paryża.... Oczywiście Francja posiada znakomitych producentów, takich jak: Claude Monnet, DJ Gregory, Bob Sinclair. Wszyscy oni tworzą pierwszą ligę europejskiej sceny klubowej, lecz tylko niewielu wykorzystuje francuskojęzycznych wokalistów. Powodem tego jest fakt, że francuscy producenci pracują głownie dla szerokiego rynku międzynarodowego a nie stricte francuskiego............







Jeśli szukasz rzeczywiście Francuskich Brzmień Klubowych musisz zajrzeć głębiej. Niewątpliwie pomoże Ci w tym niniejsza 2 płytowa kompilacja...



Na pierwszym krążku znajdziesz najciekawszych artystów z szeroko rozumianej sceny dub, lounge etc.....(z takimi nazwiskami jak Naomi, Thievery Corporation, Grace Jones, The Dinning Rooms, Manau....). Druga płytka to zestaw najciekawszych produkcji klasycznego „French-House” (w tym wspomniany już Bob Sinclair, Moonraker, Raw Instinct, Loving Paris i wielu innych)
