editor's info:
After Carlo Fashion had recorded the last albums mostly at the home of several different musicians on the basis of prepared sheets with the notes, there was then a concert in april 2005 with the first performance of the Carlo Fashion opus "das Konservatorium von Bari", with members of the ensemble "piano possibile" and a drummer and percussionist. it was recorded live at the "Zerwirk Gewölbe" in Munich by the Bavarian broadcast.
This opus is a fifty-minute declaration of love to the Italian composer Nino Rota, who teached at the academy of music of Bari. He also recieved global acceptance as a composer of movie-soundtracks and as a classic composer.
This opus for strings, woodwinds, brass-instruments and percussions (steeldrum, Yang Quin, vibraphone etc) wants to connect, pop-soundtrack-melodies and rhythms with a classical orchestration. The lust for experiments and for playing of those classical musicians should bring some fresh air into the dusted classical music-scene beyond the subcooled avant-garde.
Carlo Fashion played 8th of April with Mathis Mayr, Stephan Lanius, Philipp Kolb, David Eschmann, Gertrud Schilde, Stephanie Dauer, Heinz Friedl, Zoro Babel, Christian Brachtel, Tobias Weber, Pit Holzapfel, Carl Oesterhelt at the Zerwirk Gewölbe the pieces "Das Konservatorium von Bari" und "Beboschka".
The string-quartet "Beboschka" , maybe could be described as a mixture of schostakowitsch and the American bebop-jazzmusic.
The track "Strömung für elektrische Akkordeons und Blasinstrumente" had it`s world premiere at the Hausmusik-festival 2004, and was reworked in 2006 with Micha Acher, Robert Alonso (trumpet), Ulrich Wangenheim (bass-clarinet), flute) and Marion Dimbath (trombone).
The pieces Thema1 - Thema 3 are compositions for Celli, Piano and percussions and were actually made for a movie-score. At the piano we hear Sachiko Hara.
