"Aretha Franklin was a musical genius. Her technique, timbre and the enormous plasticity of her voice were phenomenal. For me, however, her main strength was her passion. The passion and emotions she put into every song - regardless of whether it was a musical hit, a jazz standard or a gospel song. Whatever she sang, she gave it her all and was able to turn even a banal song into a masterpiece.
This album is my blues tribute to the First Lady of Soul. I hope you like it."

Cokolwiek wyśpiewywała, dawała w tym całą siebie i potrafiła zmienić nawet banalny utwór w majstersztyk.
