An album that is a tribute to the legend of Polish music - the female vocal group Alibabki and their pioneering role in the development of Jamaican music in Poland. Material from the cult ska single Alibabek from 1965 and new versions of songs!
The female group Alibabki was one of the most popular Polish performers of the 1960s and 1970s. The stage of the Opole festival hosted it 15 times. They won the Grand Prix (1969), the journalists' award (1968) and multiple jury awards. They received the audience award at the festival in Sopot. Their hits "Flower One Night", "Tango zalotne przeleć się" and "Captain's Tango" were sung by the whole of Poland. They recorded backing vocals for a whole host of Polish artists, including Czesław Niemen.
The origins of the Tribute to Alibabki project date back to 2015, when, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the single "which started it all", out of respect and gratitude for the Artists, Polish reggae and ska performers and the accompanying band The Bartenders created and performed their own interpretations of the group's greatest hits. . A year later, they presented them again to an audience of thousands during the final of "Męskie Granie" in Żywiec. Alibabki met with The Bartenders in the Radio Łódź studio to re-record their Jamaican songs from half a century ago. The song "Już nie Twist" from this session was released on an audio postcard and as a music video.
The culmination of 5 years of activities is the album "Tribute to Alibabki", which in its vinyl version consists of the historical Alibabek single "W rhythmach Jamajca Ska", remastered from the original tape from the Veriton archive, two songs in unpublished radio versions and all the newly recorded material. by Alibabki in 2016 with The Bartenders. The album was remastered by the renowned Studio As One (including Kapela ze Wsi Warszawa).

Album będący hołdem dla legendy polskiej muzyki – żeńskiej grupy wokalnej Alibabki oraz ich pionierskiej roli w rozwoju jamajskiej muzyki w Polsce. Materiał z kultowego już singla ska Alibabek z 1965 roku oraz nowe wersje utworów!
Żeńska grupa Alibabki była jednym z najpopularniejszych polskich wykonawców lat 60. i 70. XX wieku. Scena opolskiego festiwalu gościła je 15 razy. Zdobyły tam Grand Prix (1969), nagrodę dziennikarzy (1968) oraz wielokrotne wyróżnienia jury. Na festiwalu w Sopocie otrzymały nagrodę publiczności. Ich przeboje „Kwiat jednej nocy”, „Tango zalotne przeleć mnie” czy „Kapitańskie tango” śpiewała cała Polska. Nagrywały chórki dla całej plejady polskich artystów z Czesławem Niemenem na czele.
Początki projektu Tribute to Alibabki sięgają 2015 roku, kiedy z okazji 50. rocznicy wydania singla „od którego wszystko się zaczęło”, z szacunku i wdzięczności dla Artystek polscy wykonawcy reggae i ska oraz towarzyszący im zespół The Bartenders stworzyli i wykonali własne interpretacje największych przebojów grupy. Rok później zaprezentowali je ponownie wielotysięcznej publiczności podczas finału „Męskiego Grania” w Żywcu. Alibabki spotkały się z The Bartenders w studiu Radia Łódź, by na nowo zarejestrować swoje jamajskie piosenki sprzed pół wieku. Pochodzący z tej sesji utwór “Już nie Twist” ukazał się na pocztówce dźwiękowej i jako teledysk.
Zwieńczeniem 5-letnich działań jest album „Tribute to Alibabki”, na który w winylowej odsłonie składa się historyczny singiel Alibabek „W rytmach Jamajca Ska”, zremasterowany z oryginalnej taśmy z archiwum Veritonu, dwa utwory w niepublikowanych wersjach radiowych oraz cały materiał nagrany na nowo przez Alibabki w 2016 roku z towarzyszeniem The Bartenders. Album został remasterowany w renomowanym Studio As One (m.in. Kapela ze Wsi Warszawa).
