It is very gratifying to listen to this trio music, so fresh and original. I like it very much. Four concerts, on the road recordings, which contain such expression and love of life that I want to know these men and spend more time with them.
Gratifying - from my advantage of being directly and primarily involved in my musical activities with free improvised music for the past 50 years, there are now, as compared to 50 years ago, many musicians who have reached the stage in their work and love of music to understand that individual expression in a collective setting is of utmost importance to their spiritual and technical growth and therefore practice the art of free improvisation where they can find, must find, this quality.
Tim, Szilard and Nicola possess such mastery of their instruments technically that these recordings just flow on and on with an ease that is a pleasure to listen to, to share with them. The range of expression is wide open. Solos and duos develop naturally with no need of set lists. The flow of emotions evolves continually from the very strong and profound to the lighter diaphanous textures of woven silk.
Form is of prime importance to this trio. At no moment do we witness the overpowering presence of ego which distorts the building of form. There is no fear of silence and it is used as a composition tool throughout. At the same time as we live these musical adventures together with the trio we never feel that one person is dominating the others. The form is alive and unfolding in time due to the mutual acceptance of the players between themselves and their respect for one another. It is a great pleasure to share.
This a definitely soul music, made freshly here in Europe. It‘s very interesting to note that all four concerts are well recorded and it seems with the same equipment. There is always a....... more
