DOA are the godfathers and pioneers of the hardcore scene from Canada. "Hardcore 81" is their second album from 1981. Probably the first album on which the term "hardcore" appeared. It contains the flagship songs of D.O.A. (Fucked Up Baby, Smash The State, Slumlord etc.) and the band performs in its most classic line-up: JOEY SHITHEAD, CHUCK BISCUITS, RANDY RAMPAGE and DAVE GREGG. This album is a pearl and a cornerstone of the hardcore punk scene - without it there would be no many modern bands.
The special 40th anniversary edition includes three additional single tracks: "Disco Sucks" (1978), "The Prisoner" (1978) and "Fucked Up Ronnie" (1981), plus a large booklet with a history of the album's release by vocalist Joey Shithead, and a ton of photos and flayers from that period.
