In honor of the 80th birthday of composer and vocalist Meredith Monk, ECM Records has prepared a special collector’s edition of all of ECM’s New Series albums. The Recordings, with the release of Dolmen Music in 1981, Meredith became the first female vocalist to record for the Munich-based label.

The special edition box set includes the albums Dolmen Music, Turtle Dreams, Do You Be, Book of Days, Facing North, ATLAS, Volcano Songs, Mercy, Impermanence, Songs of Ascension, Piano Songs, and On Behalf of Nature.

This beautifully designed set includes a 300-page book containing all of the original liner notes, as well as new lyrics and interviews with the artist. Additionally, the book includes an essay by Frank J. Oteri, “The Worlds of Meredith Monk,” Meredith’s autobiographical text, “The Soul’s Messenger,” and a foreword by Manfred Eicher. The additions include excellent photographs (some previously unpublished), press quotes, archival documents, and more.

Z okazji 80. urodzin kompozytorki i wokalistki Meredith Monk, ECM Records przygotowała specjalne, kolekcjonerskie wydanie, zawierające wszystkie wydane dla ECM albumy w seri New Series. The Recordings, Wraz z wydaniem albumu Dolmen Music w 1981 roku Meredith została pierwszą wokalistką, nagrywającą dla monachijskiej oficyny wydawniczej.
