An anthology of one of the most interesting Polish bands of the 80s, offering classic rock inspired by the achievements of Wishbone Ash, Dire Straits and Camel. On two CDs, material from the band's only album from 1984 and mostly unpublished radio recordings.

Savana's music is beautiful melodies and incredibly elaborate, refined arrangements based on the countless guitar parts of Krzysztof Jarkowski. It is a hit potential worthy of Dire Straits and progressive, melodic inclinations from the best Camel albums. It is one of the jewels of Polish rock of the 80s, which lost the race for the highest places on the charts because... they sang in English. In 1984, the band, commissioned by the Polish company Arston, recorded their debut - and as it turned out - only album. A moment earlier, they recorded almost the entire material in the Radio Gdańsk studio, and even before that they visited this place, recording a number of compositions, the vast majority of which were not released later.

“Fading Memories” collects the band’s preserved recordings on two CDs – from the first radio sessions, through test recordings for the album and the actual album, to the last two songs, sung in Polish in 1985. The whole thing was remastered from the original tapes by Andrzej Poniatowski. The extensive booklet includes the band’s history and photos.

Muzyka Savany to piękne melodie i niezwykle kunsztowne, dopracowane aranżacje oparte o niezliczone partie gitar Krzysztofa Jarkowskiego. To przebojowy potencjał godny Dire Straits i progresywne, melodyjne inklinacje z najlepszych płyt Camel. To jeden z klejnotów polskiego rocka lat 80., który przegrał wyścig na najwyższe miejsca list przebojów, bo… śpiewali po angielsku. W 1984 roku zespół na zlecenie polonijnej firmy Arston nagrał swój debiutancki – i jak się miało okazać – jedyny album. Chwilę wcześniej niemal cały materiał nagrali w studiu Radia Gdańsk, a jeszcze wcześniej odwiedzali to miejsce, rejestrując szereg kompozycji, które w zdecydowanej większości nie doczekały się później wydania.

„Fading Memories” zbiera na dwóch płytach CD zachowane nagrania zespołu – od pierwszych sesji radiowych, przez próbne nagrania na płytę i właściwy album po ostatnie dwa utwory, zaśpiewane po polsku w 1985 roku. Całość zremasterował z oryginalnych taśm Andrzej Poniatowski. W obszernej książeczce znalazła się historia zespołu i zdjęcia.
