The years 1980-1986 are considered the most important in the history of the Jarocin festival. After 1986 there was an organizational reshuffle and many of the existing participants felt that its character was changing. However, this did not mean that it did not abound in memorable performances or did not surprise with the quality of new bands. One such gem was undoubtedly the set of THE CORPSE. With this release we reach for the first time to the Jarocin material from the late 1980s.

A good quality archival recording of the historic performance of The Corpse. It left no one indifferent. Their program made a huge impression on those who were able to appreciate the excellent level of the band and the unprecedented sound described as hardcore thrash, but also met with a complete misunderstanding of punk-traditionalists. This show was also an opportunity for a wider presentation of the best band from the new wave of the domestic hardcore underground, which was already part of an inter-city and international network for the exchange and distribution of their own tapes, records or fanzines. Something that developed on a huge scale in Poland in the early 1990s

That same year, the band released its legendary demo “Fight against rules,” now a Polish hardcore punk classic of international significance. This recording of a live set during Jarocin ’88 is an excellent addition to the band’s discography and history, but also to the history of underground hardcore punk in Poland. Lata 1980-1986 uważane są za najważniejsze w historii festiwalu w Jarocinie. Po 1986 roku nastąpiły przetasowania organizacyjne i wielu dotychczasowych uczestników poczuło, że zmienia się jego charakter. Nie oznaczało to jednak, że nie obfitował on w pamiętne występy czy nie zaskakiwał jakością nowych formacji. Jedną z takich perełek był niewątpliwie występ zespołu THE CORPSE. Niniejszą płytą z tym właśnie zapisem po raz pierwszy sięgamy po materiał jarociński z końca lat 80.

Dobrej jakości archiwalny zapis historycznego występu The Corpse. Nie pozostawił on nikogo obojętnym. Ich program zrobił ogromne wrażenie na tych, którzy potrafili docenić wyśmienity poziom zespołu i niespotykane dotychczas w Polsce brzmienie określane mianem hardcore thrash, ale również spotkał się z kompletnym niezrozumieniem punk-tradycjonalistów. Ten występ był również możliwością szerszej prezentacji najlepszego zespołu z nowej fali rodzimego hardcore’owego undergroundu, który był już częścią międzymiastowej i międzynarodowej sieci wymiany i dystrybucji własnych kaset, płyt czy fanzinów. Czegoś co na ogromną skalę rozwinęło się w Polsce na początku lat 90.

W tym samym roku zespół wypuścił swe legendarne demo “Fight against rules”, dziś już klasyk polskiego hardcore punk o znaczeniu międzynarodowym. Ten zapis z koncertu podczas Jarocina ‘88 jest doskonałym uzupełnieniem dyskografii i historii zespołu, ale również historii hardcore punk w Polsce i rodzącej się wówczas prawdziwej sceny niezależnej.
