On September 5, 2025, Nyt ritual will be released - the third studio album from the poetic-pop jazz ensemble Kiosk, released on April Records.
The album is a sensual and perceptive journey through life's cyclical rhythms and man's longing for faith, hope and forgiveness - a modern and down-to-earth reinterpretation of the liturgy of Christian worship, with feminine, humorous and existential undertones.
Kiosk unites music and poetry in a unique universe of jazz-pop and audio poetry. With Maj Ørskov's present and richly illustrated lyrics at the forefront and a collectively composing band behind them, Kiosk creates music that both moves and shakes. It is playful, serious and honest - and always at eye level with the audience.
The band has previously released the critically acclaimed albums Tæt nok på (2021), which was named 'Album of the Week' on DR P8 Jazz, and
Drift (2023), from which the single “Paloma” was nominated for 'Single of the Year' at the Danish Music Awards Jazz.
'Nyt Ritual' is a pop-poetic reinterpretation of the classic liturgy of the church service - in Kiosk's interpretation with a feminine, poetic, humorous and down-to-earth feel.
